a man couldn’t get a woman to touch his dick, so he shot people, like, that’s an actual thing that has occurred in the year 2014. we can put people on the moon, but we can’t teach boys that they aren’t entitled to a woman’s body.

People are losing their fire and forgetting about Ferguson. That’s exactly what the police want, though: for all of this to just go away and for people to forget about it.

Don’t let that happen.

i’m not forgetting i just don’t know what the fuck else to do.

DEBI JACKSON, MOTHER OF TRANSGENDER CHILD, GIVES MOVING SPEECH

The best part of the video may be when Jackson addresses the comments she’s heard about her daughter and sets the record straight about statements like you “wanted a girl so you turned your child into one” and “kids have no idea what they want or who they are — my kids wants to be a dog, should I let him?”

So watch the full video to see her answers to those difficult questions here.

Chills down my whole body. This is how parents should react.

At that age, my little brother wanted to be a Black-eyed Susan. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s a flower.
Did we start calling him a flower? No.
Did we change his physical appearance? No.
Did he go through surgery to become a flower? No.
Moral of the story: kids say stupid stuff. To get a sex change that early in life, and to be the parent that initiates it, is wrong. Kids say a lot of stuff that they don’t mean. He stuck to that flower stuff for two years. He’s forgotten it now. He’s not plantkin or anything like that. We didn’t start calling him flowerself or whatever.
They’re kids. They say and do dumb things. Life-changing decisions shouldn’t be made by 3-4 year olds.

Common sense.
It must be a super power now.

No one is having the kid go through a sex change. Where the actual fuck did you get that from? Just letting them dress as a different gender and respecting their pronouns. That is harmless. Calm down friend.

You’re never too young to know you’re trans. Never.

And yeah, a sex change was never even mentioned.

And do you think that they’d just give the kid a sex change immediately or something? hell no, I highly doubt that. they would probably just let the kid live as a girl and then once the kid is mature enough to make an informed, thought out decision on if they want a sex change or not, and THEN give them one or not. So I do at least agree that a 3-4 year old is probably not mature enough to make the choice to get a sex change. You can be too immature to get a sex change, BUT you are NEVER to young to know you’re trans.

Besides that, psh, name one doctor that would even be willing to give a 4 year old a sex change. Grown ass people are put through hell to try to get one from these cissexist doctors, you think they’re gonna give a 4 year old one?

In addition, what the fuck.
You’re comparing being trans and wanting a sex change to someone wanting surgery to become a plant? The fuck kind of comparison is that?

If I’m fucking three years old and I say I’m a girl, and I hold that I’m a girl, if I believe I’m really a girl, you should fucking call me a girl. Otherwise that’s pretty fucking cissexist. You’re NEVER too young to be trans. You’re NEVER too young to realize that you aren’t the gender you were assigned. Even if I start saying I’m a boy again a week later, so long as I say I’m a girl, you should refer to me as such no matter how young I am. Kids need to explore multiple identities anyway. So regardless of age, if they say they are female, male, in between, neither, both, etc… then refer to them as such!

James Lopez is a veteran Disney animator (The Lion King, Pocahontas, Paperman) who is trying to raise funding for his primarily hand-drawn short film, Hullabaloo, with hopes of eventually finding a studio to fund a full-length version.

From the film’s IndieGo page:

Hullabaloo is the story of Veronica Daring, a brilliant young scientist who returns home from an elite finishing school to find her father—the eccentric inventor Jonathan Daring—missing without a trace! The only clue left behind points Veronica toward Daring Adventures, an abandoned amusement park used by her father to test his fantastical steam-powered inventions. There she discovers a strange girl named Jules, a fellow inventor who agrees to help Veronica in locating her missing father and discovering the secrets of his work.

In addition to helping save 2D animation, Hullabaloo aims to encourage girls to explore science and adventure. The film’s two protagonists are both young women and both scientists who use their intellect, wits, and courage to fight greed and corruption. We hope that Veronica Daring and her friend Jules will serve as positive role models for girls of all ages and encourage them to get excited about science, engineering, and sci-fi.

This looks really cool, and I love that one of the kickstarter rewards is an animation class!

White dude in St. Louis named Kevin Miner was wanted for burglary. He eluded police officers until they conducted a search of a resident’s home and found him.He attacked both officers, breaking one cop’s hand. The media even alludes to Miner being forced to “fight back” against the police because of how he was being apprehended!Miraculously, the cops managed not to punch him in the face repeatedly, put him in a chokehold, or shoot him six times including once in the face and once in the head. He, in fact, barely had a scratch on him.Imagine that. The next time someone says to you:"BUT IT’S NOT ABOUT RACE (Patent Pending)!"Throw your tea dead in their face Dominique Deveraux-style and pump on away from them like Naomi Campbell.

It’s furgeson with the problem. Not the state of Missouri. Not saying furgeson is not a race issue, but why St. Louis?

If you think abusive cops are limited to one town in Missouri, then you are not paying attention.

in this time, i’ve kept an eye on spiky’s twitter and he’s swatted several innocent streamers [he posts proof and gloats about it]  and plans to keep doing it. he and pain both think they’re invincible and it needs to stop.

Can a thin person have body image struggles? Can a thin person be at war with their self-image? Can a thin person hate to look in the mirror?

Absolutely.

And does that suck?

Absolutely.

But the difference between these negative feelings and fatphobia is this: The only person worrying about whether or not I’m meeting beauty standards is me.

And that’s not the same for fat folk.

When you’re not thin, other people on the beach actually do take offense. When you’re not thin, people really do think that you shouldn’t be in a bathing suit. When you’re not thin, people really do make your body their moral obligation.

And while your internal struggle is real and significant, the point is: You might hate your body, but society doesn’t.

That’s thin privilege. - Let’s Talk About Thin Privilege — Everyday Feminism (via samanticshift)

Houston, Texas: March and rally in solidarity with the Ferguson uprising, August 20, 2014.

"Whose streets? Our streets! Took over the streets in Third Ward, marching in solidarity with Ferguson, from the HPD cop shop on West Grey and St. Emanuel and through the hood. We out-smarted the cops who were trying to block the streets and keep us on the sidewalks. HPD, out of our community!”
